History of Thanka

Thangka is a Nepalese art form which was imported to Tibet after Princess Bhrikuti of Nepal, daughter of Lichchavi king, married with Sron Tsan Gampo, the ruler of Tibet imported the images of Aryawalokirteshwar and other Nepalese deities to Tibet.
